JMBF Protests Against Violence in Bangladesh with Human Chain Demonstration at Paris, France

Paris, July 20, 2024- JusticeMakers Bangladesh in France (JMBF) has condemned the recent violence in Bangladesh, which erupted during clashes between quota reform students and law enforcement agencies from July 10 to 20, 2024.

Today, July 20, 2024, at around 5 PM, Advocate Shahanur Islam, Founder and President of JMBF, along with Moynuddin Khan, Treasurer of the organization, joined a human chain and demonstration at Republic Square in Paris. The protest saw participation from the Bangladeshi student community and expatriates residing in France.

During the demonstration, JMBF strongly condemned the violence, including killings, injuries, arson attacks, and the vandalism of private and public property during clashes between law enforcement agencies, general students, and other political activists.



Previously, JMBF had issued two press statements and a press release, highlighting the need for a peaceful resolution and the protection of citizens' rights. They urged the Bangladeshi government to take immediate action to address the situation and ensure justice for the victims. Additionally, they called for the provision of physical and psychological integrity and financial compensation to the victims and their families.

JMBF's participation in the demonstration underscores their commitment to advocating for human rights and justice for all Bangladeshi citizens, both in their homeland and abroad.
