At the same time, human rights organisation JusticeMakers Bangladesh called the government for rescue and hand over the missing lawyer to his family immediately.
Founder Secretary General of JusticeMakers Bangladesh and prominent human rights lawyer Advocate Shahanur Islam strongly demanded to form a judicial investigation committee, headed by a justice of high court division to investigate the incident in order to identify the members of the law enforcement agency who are involved in the incident and punished them exemplary with a fair trial immediately.
Besides,Aadvocate Shahanur Islam insisted on providing full security to the victim lawyer and his family, including physical and mental treatment and appropriate compensation.
It should be noted here that according to the news published in the online edition of the Bangladeshi national newspaper Daily Manabzamin on January 29, lawyer and human rights activist Abul Hossain Rajan has been missing for seven days.
On January 22, he left his house in Old Dhaka for office. The family said that he was picked up in front of Moghbazar Ad-Deen Hospital in the identity of the law and order forces. He has not been found since then. His relatives are wandering around in search of this lawyer.
In a picture obtained by Manavzamin, Rajan is seen in Hatirjheel police station. But the police have said that they have not arrested any lawyer of this name. He is not at the police station.
Hatirjheel Police Inspector (Investigation) Md. Mezbahuddin said, they did not arrest any person, lawyer or accused named Abul Hossain Rajan. No such person is in their police custody.
When asked about the photo of Rajan in the custody of Hatirjheel police station, which was handed over to Manavzamin, he said, no, no. He does not know about this. Although the police denied it, Rajan's family claimed that he is in police custody.
According to family sources, when he was walking to his workplace through Moghbazar, sometime between 5 pm and 6 pm, he was picked by member of the law enforcement force.
Rajan did not return home even though it was night, his family became worried. Later, relatives and acquaintances were searched at home. At that time, his mobile phone rang but no one answered.
When contacted about him at various police stations including Ramna, Paltan, Motijheel police stations in the capital, the police denied arresting him or taking him into custody.
However, the family members claim that they have gone to Hatirjheel police station in search of Rajan. While talking to the policemen there, they heard Rajan's voice.

বাংলাদেশের রাজধানী ধাকায় এক আইনজীবী সাত দিন যাবৎ নিখোঁজের ঘটনায় মানবাধিকার প্রতিষ্ঠান জাস্টিসমেকার্স বাংলাদেশ গভীর উদ্বেগ প্রকাশ করেছে। একই সাথে নিখোঁজ আইনজীবিকে দ্রুত উদ্ধারপূর্বক পরিবারের নিকট হস্তান্তরের আহবান জানিয়েছেন মানবাধিকার প্রতিষ্টান জাস্টিসমেকার্স বাংলাদেশ।
জাস্টিসমেকার্স বাংলাদেশ এর প্রতিষ্ঠাতা মহাসচিব ও বিশিষ্ট মানবাধিকার আইনজীবী অ্যাডভোকেট শাহানূর ইসলাম উক্ত ঘটনায় বিচার বিভাগীয় কমিটি গঠনের মাধ্যমে দ্রুত নিরপেক্ষ তদন্ত করে অবিলম্বে ঘটনার সাথে জড়িত আইন শৃংখলা রক্ষাকারী বাহীনির সদস্যদের চিহ্নিত করে বিচারে দৃষ্টান্তমূলক শাস্তি প্রদানের জোর দাবী জানিয়েছেন।
পাশাপাশি ভুক্তভোগী আইনজীবী ও তার পরিবারের পূর্ণ নিরাপত্তা প্রদানসহ তার শারীরিক ও মানসিক চিকিৎসা প্রাদান এবং উপযুক্ত ক্ষতিপূরণ প্রদানের জোর দাবী জানিয়েছেন অ্যাডভোকেট শাহানূর ইসলাম।
এখানে বিশেষভাবে উল্লেখ্য যে, আজ ২৯ জানুয়ারী বাংলাদেশী জাতীয় পত্রিকা দৈনিক মানবজমিন" এর অনলাইন সংখ্যায় প্রকাশিত খবর অনুযায়ী জানা যায়, সাত দিন ধরে নিখোঁজ আইনজীবী এবং মানবাধিকারকর্মী আবুল হোসাইন রাজন।
২২শে জানুয়ারি পুরান ঢাকার বাসা থেকে বের হয়েছিলেন অফিসের উদ্দেশ্যে। মগবাজার আদ-দ্বীন হাসপাতালের সামনে থেকে আইনশৃঙ্খলা বাহিনী পরিচয়ে তাকে তুলে নেয়া হয় বলে জানিয়েছে পরিবার। এরপর থেকে আর তার খোঁজ মিলছে না। এই আইনজীবীর খোঁজে বিভিন্ন স্থানে হন্যে হয়ে ঘুরছেন তার স্বজনরা।
মানবজমিনের হাতে আসা একটি ছবিতে দেখা যাচ্ছে রাজন হাতিরঝিল থানা হাজতে রয়েছেন। কিন্তু থানা পুলিশের পক্ষ থেকে বলা হয়েছে তারা এ নামের কোনো আইনজীবীকে গ্রেপ্তার করেনি। তিনি থানায় নেই।
হাতিরঝিল থানার পুলিশ পরিদর্শক (তদন্ত) মো. মেজবাহউদ্দিন বলেন, আবুল হোসাইন রাজন নামে কোনো ব্যক্তি, আইনজীবী কিংবা কোনো আসামিকে তারা গ্রেপ্তার করেনি। এমন কেউ তাদের থানা হেফাজতে নেই।
মানবজমিনের হাতে আসা হাতিরঝিল থানা হেফাজতে থাকা রাজনের ছবির বিষয়ে জানতে চাইলে তিনি বলেন, না না। এ বিষয়ে তার জানা নেই। পুলিশ অস্বীকার করলেও রাজনের পরিবারের দাবি তিনি পুলিশ হেফাজতেই আছেন।
পারিবারিক সূত্র জানায়, তিনি তার কর্মস্থলের উদ্দেশ্যে মগবাজার হয়ে হেঁটে যাওয়ার সময় বিকাল আনুমানিক ৫টা থেকে ৬টার মধ্যে কোনো এক সময় আইনশৃঙ্খলা বাহিনীর সদস্য পরিচয়ে তুলে নেয়া হয়।
সন্ধ্যা পেরিয়ে রাত হলেও রাজন বাসায় না ফেরায় উদ্বিগ্ন হয়ে পড়ে তার পরিবার। পরবর্তীতে আত্মীয়স্বজন থেকে শুরু করে পরিচিতজনদের বাসায় খোঁজ করা হয়। এ সময় তার মুঠোফোনে ফোন দিলে রিং হলেও কেউ রিসিভ করেনি।
রাজধানীর রমনা, পল্টন, মতিঝিল থানাসহ বিভিন্ন থানায় তার বিষয়ে যোগাযোগ করা হলে পুলিশ তাকে গ্রেপ্তার কিংবা হেফাজতে নেয়ার বিষয়টি অস্বীকার করে।
তবে পরিবারের সদস্যদের দাবি গত কয়েক দিন তারা হাতিরঝিল থানায় গেছেন রাজনের সন্ধানে। সেখানে পুলিশ সদস্যদের সঙ্গে কথা বলার সময় তারা রাজনের কণ্ঠ শুনতে পেয়েছেন।
