A nationally well-known health and human rights based organization and Bangladesh Rehabilitation Centre for Trauma Victims (BRCT), under the project of “Treatment and Rehabilitation of Adibashi (tribes/ Indigenous) Victims of Torture and Organized Violence in Bangladesh” with financial assistance of European Delegation in Bangladesh, in cooperation with Bangladesh Institute of Human Rights (BIHR) is please to announce of training programme on Health and Human Rights for Adibashi students.
The main objective of the training is to develop a cadre of trainers among Adibashi students on health and human rights. The duration of the course will be two week long. The course curriculum will be focused on different heath and human rights issues which are related to daily livelihood of Adibashi community.
The training programme will commence on 25 October, 2009 at BRCT Training Centre and at the end of the programme certificate will be given through a closing ceremony.
Application addressing Executive Director, BRCT along with Resume from interested Adibashi students of different institutions in Bangladesh who are willing to develop themselves as human rights activists/defenders is invited by email or hard copy to BRCT/BIHR. Only short listed selected participants would be invited to participate the training programme. BRCT will cover the food and small amount of transportation for the selected participant.
Bangladesh Rehabilitation Centre for Trauma Victims (BRCT) and Bangladesh Institute of Human Rights (BIHR) was founded by Dr. Akram H. Chowdhury, M.P, pioneer of human rights in Bangladesh in 1992. Since its inception the BRCT and BIHR has been a path of providing immediate assistance to victims of torture and organized violence, established of rights of the minorities, women and children.
